I would like to take this opportunity to thank a very special board member who has served on the Board for the past ten years. Ms. Elmira Gainey was appointed to the Board in January, 2003 and will be attending her last board meeting on May 17, 2013. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank her for her exemplary service and dedication to the Board.
With Ms. Gainey’s term ending, we will have two vacancies for consumer members, one vacancy for a dental hygienist member and several positions for dentist members in the upcoming months. I respectfully request your assistance in identifying candidates to fill these positions. Please contact board staff with questions regarding service on our Board. Anesthesia has been a priority this past year and there have been and will be many changes to the rules. We will be reviewing and discussing anesthesia rule changes at our May meeting and board staff have recently sent letters to all of our anesthesia permit holders containing information on these rule changes.
I ask you to stay informed and please monitor the Board of Dentistry website. Staff have been working on the new site which will be coming soon. Any new changes affecting you will be posted to our website.
