Notification for Dental and Dental Hygiene Exam Candidates

Posted in Latest News on April 1, 2021.

For purposes of preparing for, responding to, and mitigating any effect of COVID-19, State Surgeon General Scott A. Rivkees issued Emergency Order 21-001 suspending the provisions of sections 466.006 and 466.007, Florida Statutes, that would prohibit the use of mannequins or simulated patients in lieu of live patients during the administration of the American Dental Licensing Examination and Dental Hygiene Examination. Any statute and/or rule to the contrary is hereby suspended. This suspension applies until June 30, 2021.

The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) is working diligently to ensure the safety of administering the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) dental and dental hygiene exams. They are also working with Florida schools to ensure that testing sites will be available and prepared to accommodate candidates for the exam.

Please visit the CDCA website to view the dental exam calendar and the dental hygiene exam calendar for finalized exam sites and dates.
