Teaching Permit Holders – Rule Change Regarding Continuing Education

Effective May 16, 2018, teaching permit holders are exempt from the general continuing education (CE) requirement. Rule 64B5-7.005, F.A.C. was amended to align with the full time faculty exemption in Rule 64B5-12.0135, F.A.C. This amendment does not exempt a teaching permit holder from completing the CE mandated in Chapter 456 which includes two hours of Prevention of Medication Errors, two hours of Domestic Violence every third biennium, two hours of HIV/AIDS for your first renewal and current CPR certification.

64B5-7.005 Teaching Permits.

(3) A teaching permit or temporary teaching permit authorizes the holder to practice dentistry at the teaching facility under the following terms and conditions:

(e) Pursuant to Rule 64B5-12.0135, F.A.C., teaching permit holders are exempt from the continuing education requirements.
